zetaSID: new eurorack SID synth voice based on MIDIbox SID v2 :)

Hola,

it has been a (too) long time, but now, finally:

introducing midiphy zetaSID, a eurorack-based take on TK.'s fantastic sound engine.

@T.K also did some testing and helped with a code tweak - thanks a lot for that!

Here’s the release video:

And a great SID tune made by SID sorceress Avrilcadabra:

And - best of all - we have a free web emulator of nearly the whole engine - which can also be tested via a MIDI keyboard:

https://www.midiphy.com/en/zetasid-emulator/

There’s also an advanced web-based patch editor (similar to Ctrlr with a few additional graphical bells and whistles):

More information can be found here:

As it is (mostly) patch compatible with the MB6582 Lead and Drum engine, it should be possible to load your old patches and enjoy them on your modular system.

Hope you enjoy!
Best regards,
Peter

Update: we’ve just launched a community patch library for zetaSID:
https://www.midiphy.com/en/zetasid-patches/

It’s a place where zetaSID users can freely download patches and share their own creations with the community. We’ll keep adding to it over time, and we’d love to see your patches up there as well! The patches should also be mostly compatible with MBSID v2 (i.e. MB6582), so you could give it a try!

To kick things off, check out this incredible tune by Avrilcadabra, a very nice supersaw and trancegate patch, built entirely with the internal zetaSID wave sequencer and a little help from the Dirtywave M8:

The patch from the video is now available for download in the library.
Enjoy and best regards! Peter
