Tip for soldering ICs/Transistors

Just remembered this from school.

If for whatever reason you are soldering ICs without a DIL socket or even transistors you can dessipate some of the heat and therefore protect the componant a bit by clipping an old style bulldog clip on to the componant.

… take a bull and a female dog and after a few month you have some tiny sweet bulldogs.

Also used as a coercion device on enemy combatants at Guantanamo…

Yes, that kind of thing but the old style.. the ones which don’t grip so strongly…

I use an ordinary crocodile clip. Works great. :slight_smile:
