This wasn’t the problem mate but thanks for trying,btw the led’s I am using don’t have a flat on them so it may look on the photo as if the led’s are the wrong way round.
After going bozz eyed for a couple of hours last night following tracks around the board it turns out that some connections between the cs and baseboard are the problem,I have ordered some extended headers and sockets so I can connect them ‘sammich’ style.
I had originally used ribbon cable but I saw the joints as weak,so I then hot glued over the joints to strengthen them.
I then desoldered the ribbon cables and make some ‘sammich’ like connections using some ic sockets I cut up…I don’t know why but I just don’t like using the ribbon cable.
Here lies the fault…residue from the hot glue on the solder pads that was invisible blocking current…live and learn huh?
Yeah, i’m not a big fan of that glue gun thing.. it’s hard to ‘reverse engineer’ stuff once it’s plastered
Btw, the boards are not parallel like in the Sammichs. This might turn out to be a problem? I mean with the holes in the CS being kinda ‘angled’ opposed to the holes in the basseboard.
I know the boards are angled but I think I may be able to get around it okay,I’ll solder it up when the bits arrive and post a picture (if it works that is).
