sid/core test

Hi,

I’ve build 4 core’s and 4 sid’s, before i wiring it all together, i want to test 1 core with 1 sid, to make sure it’s working.

But how to test?

All voltages are ok.

I’ve connected a simple speaker to the sid.

What exactly load into the core pic?, i’ve downloaded midibox_sid_v1_6.zip

there are lots of *.syx files:

main.syx

setup_6581_slave1.syx

"

"

"

and so on.

First i’ve loaded the bootloader, and then main.syx

The lcd says mios v1.6…

What to load/do next?

just follow the instructions under http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_sid_csB.html

(“Preparation of PIC18F cores”)

Don’t forget to update to MIOS V1.7 (thats only possible with the first level bootstrap loader during the first 2 seconds after power-on)

Sorry, I must read over it some how ???

Is it neccesary to connect a ampifier or sould i hear sound when i connect a little 8ohm speker?

You should be able to power a little speaker just fine - my Sid blows my head off with headphones plugged directly into it - Tim
