Polyphonic Touchsensors ?

exactly, on my definitive midibox

i will tinned the pads

and varnish each pad with a varnished conducting.

here is my testing board, if it’s help !? (10x15cmx300dpi)

the circle is approximatively 9cm.

NOW ITS ALL CLEAR

;D ;D ;D

NICE WORK !!

would be great to see it when its done !

Salut mec!

When i saw your cool Camambert board it struck me: THE ULTIMATE REASON REX TRAVELLER!  ;D

this circular trigger pad is going to revolutionize my musik making too, i’ll use it to trigger REX slices in any way or order i want.

I etched a quick board to play with,

but I have the very same problems as you describe:

Notes seem monophonic and are quite noisy too.

how did you fix it in the end? thanks in advance, Alex

ok good question !

and i have the solution  :stuck_out_tongue:

excuse my english, if u don’t understand something

it’s surely because of my expression, but i try.

1- the first problem i have encountered is when i touch a sensor

the message 0,127,0,127,0,127… was send in loop

to resolve this problem i have simply connect the 0v of the midibox

to the ground.

2- ok at this stade, when i touch a sensor it send correctly the values

like a button. (but very quickly and intuitively)

but when i touch to or more sensors, there’s no more message send

or messages are send randomely.

to fix this problem, i simply plug myself  ;D

with a jack in the belt directly to my skin

connected to the ground  ;D

Now my body was perfectly at 0v, the computer

& the midibox also !! and i can touch 32 or more

sensors, without any problem, like a button.

i search a better way to solve this problem, but for now

i plug (myself) & play  ;D

Now i’m on way to design my definitive midibox

with two circular “camembert” of 7 & 9 parts

and some linear touchsensors of 12 parts…  8)

From where come this purple colour of your board ?  ???

HI!

ok, thanks for the info!

I guess i’ll stick a JACK up my nose from now on  ;D

The board looks purple because I took the foto with my mobile phone…

Have fun!

Alex

ooh yes neo-lo-fi picture !!  8)

yes stick the jack in your nose

and ready to play  :-*

Bionic synth implants!

6 million dollar man?

Maybe 6 Million hertz man  ;D

any idea if it’s possible to use this kind of design for  a fader/pot, or is that just not possible. another idea is to take the legth of the fader and making 127 little pads and somehow getting mios to recognise it as 1 fader/pot.

i think is impossible, but don’t know

for sure 127 sensors, are not easy to build

and a linear slider, it’s surely a better way..

Would be easy to have a detented encoder send info depending on it’s position. However many pads you wanted would be how many detents you’d need on the encoder. Using a nice big jogwheel style knob would probably have the desired effect. Just a bit of MIOS code to write.
