I have turned it on and....NOTHING HAPPENS!!!

Hi!

I have finished my Midibox64 (with the old design, all in the same pcb), and when i turned it on, it don’t work!!

Before to solder pots and buttons my box worked, i think (the LCD write, etc)

Now after solder pots and buttons anything goes well, thje LCD don.t print anything and the pots and buttons don.t do nothing.

I have measured the voltage, and in Vdd i have 4.18V

I now that the pic needs a Vdd between 4,8V-5,2V or similar, because i think that my problem is in my power supply.

Why i don’t have 5 volts like before solder pots and buttons? Is because my power supply gives less current that it must to give?

Let’s check it step by step: are you using a LCD with backlight? In this case you should disable the backlight first, this will lower the current consumption by 100-200 mA. Thereafter you should disconnect the pots - if the PIC boots again, you possibly didn’t solder the pots correctly, so that they are causing a short circuit.
