MBSeq V4 - Building the step button/encoder control surface
VFD hue color filtering
… using a cheap yellow color foil. These color foils are used to change the light color of presentation “spotlights” usually.
The foil is not yet applied firmly to the glass vfd surface, which is why you see a “ghost image” of the font.

Backlighting transparent knobs for the MB6582
Those SMD LEDs are frickin´ small… should not have had soo much coffee
Welcome to Lava City!
ah those lead free solder fumes dont make happy no more
(backlight smd leds for transparent mb6582 waldorf knobs - last “night shot” of them, i promise :-))
VFDified MB-6582
Using a color foil for VFD hue-shifting.
Including a space invaders alien.
Hope you like it.
Outstanding work TK. & Wilba - Thanks once again!
6.3mm Stereo Socket for MB6582 Passive Mixer Output
It fits perfectly… If you don´t have 8 mixer channels left, then this is the next best alternative to connect the MB6582 to your studio…
The case closes without problems and there are no contacts to the CS PCB or the display.

Ebony Frame for the SEQ V4 user interface
…for the worlds-first ebony MBSEQ v4
Ebony is very hard stuff, took some hours of woodwork ![]()
Ebony MBSEQ V4 installed below keyboard
Yes, the frontpanel is still missing
I can totally recommend this kind of wooden frame for your builds, because it adds lots of stability.
Greets,
Peter

Polivoks Party on Midsummer Night
Breadboarded the “Bareille” Polivox clone and just did a test! Works nicely and does some very civilized filtering, when the resonance turned down, becomes a screaming beast when resonance turned up… Still to test: frequency modulation of the filter, have to connect a lfo voltage source and see what happens /public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) class=“bbc_emoticon” alt=“:)”>
Will build a stereo variant on veroboard primarly to be used with the MB6582 later, the rawness and the extreme resonance should suit the SID sound /public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) class=“bbc_emoticon” alt=“:)”>
Highly recommended because of very good performance for material cost - less than 20€ in parts, just 7 opamps, about 25 resistors, two 1uF tantals and three pots, +15V/0/-15V or +12V/0/-12V PSU (e.g. from MBFM) required.
Have fun!
Peter
Stereo Polivoks VCF (nearly complete
If you are looking for a low-fi audio filter (VCF), look no more… The Polivoks (google bareille polivoks for a free schem) filter is awesome! It screams (with high resonance), it is gritty, it extends the bass (in lowpass mode), and it can be overdriven nicely by applying quite hot input and attenuating the audio signal after the filter. The photo shows a stereo Polivoks build on a veroboard, it was routed by hand, that is why both sides are not visually identical… also due to small differences in the resistors and pots, they sound a very slight bit different, which only adds to the character :-). The external VCF inputs are not wired up yet (empty TL072 slots)… i am also missing a MIDIbox CV, or an AoutNG on the SEQ, which would be fantastic for filter automation. In conjunction with (relatively) low-fi sound sources, in this case, when using it on rather old-school SID patches is great, in stereo it is twice the fun (most analog filterboxes are mono). Hope to demo it soon! The slot is a 1/2 U (height unit) el-cheapo steel rack panel from ebay (ca 3€), drilled with a press drill, attached to a cheap selfbuilt wooden enclosure. Total material cost for the depicted filter was way less than 50€, as no special parts are used… Many, many thanks once again for the tip, J! The polivoks definitely came to stay!

This one is for Altitude!
Thanks for sending the hardware, man! ![]()
It is a beautiful VFD and currently quite cheap in the U.S. ![]()

New v4+ UI PCBs
… just arrived yesterday, off to validation soon, so that they can be made publicly available!
Many greets,
Peter
Montage! SEQ v4+ with key labels plus TPD mini matrices…
This is just a montage, of how we hope it should look. The final looks may differ a bit.
Note: the beat LED (above the midiphy logo) will be in the final unit. It is included on the new right-hand LeMEC PCB, just not in the montage.
The TPD matrices are cute 20x20mm mini LED matrices in white! And they could be used for more than "just" displaying a TPD. :)
Enjoy!
Many greets, Peter
Assembly test of unpainted SEQ v4+ case , left handed jogwheel
Directly from AdrianH’s workshop - thanks a lot for the photo!
Unified midiphy SEQ v4+ case backside
including labels and an installed blinding plate, that covers the lower case options, that are available for optional rackmount mode.
Fantastic work again by Hallik Engineering!
Enjoy! :)

midiphy SEQ v4+ RH Jog + Activity Matrix case…
… now with labels, in the final shade of blue!
Many greets and enjoy! Peter
And the final SEQ v4+ case!
This one uses a left-hand jog and activity matrix configuration, with green/red (“emerald green”) color scheme!
Enjoy and many greets!
Peter
Elrom Teaser
Andy’s newest - just a proof of concept at the moment - but with such a board, we hope to be able to realize a standardized MBNG user interface (aka ProgrammA) at some point in time.

latigid on’s new MatriX
Well done, it’s looking great!
I’m still working on the software side (dual device support and LoopA support), but we’re definitely getting closer to the release date!
Many greets,
Peter
