Cheap encoders on ebay (China)

Do you think these cheap encoders are as good as alps/bourns?

I wanted to try some like those too but still not bought it yet.
Regarding the price,the best way is to order a set and check by yourself, because there is sometimes (good or bad) surprises with chinese stuff.
If by luck they are almost as good as the originals ALPS , you may share confirmation of the source =)

I’d like to test some of these, but the long delivery times holding me back.

What’s up with Bourns PEC16? Some seem to have trouble with them. That would be my current choice, since Alps EC11 are ridiculous expensive.

As you are asking for cheap and there are already ebay.de links floating around this thread, i can recommend this seller and these ALPS EC12 encoders. Very good price, with pushbutton, used them in the Programma V1:

Hi,

I used the cheap metal shafted blue one, bought years ego form a Chinese supplier (unfortunately he doesn’t sell it anymore) and recently the ALPS with plastic shaft form the above mentioned German  source. I was happy with them, both type have good tact feel, smooth running. I’ve never had any problem with plastic shaft.
