Cabel question

I’m looking for a type of flat cable with solid or tinned copper, and with “double spacing” 2,54mm.

I see it often used to connect pcb’s

Here on MIDIbox, I think people use it in the MB-6582

 

Any suggestions on what exactly it’s called?

A brand?

Where to get it? ( I’m in Norway, Europe)

 

I have of course googled, searched on Mouser, Farnell and Elfa

I ended up buying Mouser part 571-FSP-22A-8, for a soon to be completed MB-6582.

I’d recommend against that stuff, it breaks pretty easily and once you break one lead, you have to replace the whole cable which is major PITA.  I use standard ribbon cable with DIL connectors along with IDC headers which allows you to disconnect everything if you need to (you only use half of the connector).  It’s strong and you never have to solder the ribbon to the board.  Alternatively, you can just bite the bullet and use one wire per connection, its a lot of work but much more practical since if something breaks, its an easy fix

Here’s a partly finished MB-6582 with the previously mentioned cables:

 

 

 

These wires look like solid tin to me. They are quite rigid, but they conform to a bendy shape. No problems thus far!
