hi!
as understand it the BLM is also a standalone device with own dedicated firmware, so does it work with the SeqV3 also or are some features of the SeqV4 strictly required for a proper communication and all available functions?

imo no
but why not upgrade to seq v4 (just change the core module) ? hardware stay the same (you will have to add a SDCard btw)
Unfortunately this isn’t possible.
There is no free memory anymore, there is no spare fast accessible MIDI port, and the firmware structure doesn’t allow to run low-priority tasks so that BLM handling won’t affect the sequencer timings.
All the reasons why I switched to a new platform.

…just change the core module
nono, i haven’t even finished my V3 and wouldn’t like to throw the ultracore away…
seems like i have to build both versions then
At least the PIC part of the ultracore can be re-used for the BLM ![]()
Best Regards, Thorsten.
i like them both. by the time i got the ultracore the V4 hadn’t even been released. it’s a shame that i haven’t finished one yet. but when i thought about it back then i figured it’s cool to have them both, because they’re actually two different devices (with different led matrices now).
but this video for the new BLM is a real teaser, immediate wanna-play!
