Hi - just trying to understand the aout (the max525 / max5500) board and how it should connect to the stm32 core.
I presume it should connect to J19 in the core - is that correct ?
If so, then there are CS, DIN and SCLK pins on the DAC to connect to the core
Am I right in thinking that in connecting (J19 → aout board):
J19 S0 → DIN
J19 RC1 → CS
J19 SC → SCLK

Thanks a lot Peter - that was what I went with in the end (I am awaiting PCBs from China at the moment!) It was just the aout (max525) schematic (not the aout_ng) and description confused me a lot (especially the pinout in the schematic connection to the core and the description on the web page of the various connection options, including midibox).
I’ve made a SMT board with max5500s that is easy to order assembled with options for trimmers or fixed values and to calibrate in firmware. It is the same size, with the same mounting options, as the aout_ng board. I have also done the same with the aout_ng board (correcting the bipolar issues on the original).
