I built this one for a friend. Ice and VFD version.

KPR77 - Disassembled

KPR77 - Disassembled

long ago a friend gave me this BAR, broken. Sequencer down.

Having nothing to lose, so I dismounted and download the schemas.

KPR77 - KLM-448 card

This card provides triggers inputs on CN07.

1/GND - 2 /CLAP - 3/CH - 4/HT - 5/LT - 6/ OH - 7/CB - 8/SD - 9/BD - 10/ ACC - 11/FLAM - 12/M1 - 13/M2 - 14/+5V

Bye!

SammichSID - VFD filter

For the color filter, I used “Lee Filters”, after a little test with sampler.

I’ ve finally choose number 085 “Deeper Blue”:

KPR77 - KLM-414

An HDM20416 for replacement.

the card is already cannibalized. Square Leds, slide toggles and CN09 connector.

KPR77 - Drilling and cleaning.

The 29 3mm holes.

One led for each button.

KPR77 - > MB77 ?

MB77 under construction.

MB77 - Adding Leds

There is enough room between the lid and KLM-452 switches card.

MB77 - KLM-452 Board and DIN.

Originally, tactils switches were matriced, but the functions need DINs, so everyone on DIN.

I replaced some switches too. I have room in battery compartment.

Note: original power supply was replaced by a LM317 @6v and the switching system between battery and ext was removed.

MB77 - KLM-448 triggers input Board and DOUT.

Two HC595 to trigger the analog.

MB77 - KLM-415 MIDI I/O mods.

I replaced the two slide toggles on board KLM-415 by two DIN connector. And cut the plastic on the back (assembled during procedure)

MB77 - Ready.

MB77 - Closed.

Temporary labels during MB808 firmware modifications.

Left led and training toggle are Live function On/Off

Right led is tempo.

“CHAIN END” slider is Groove/Instrument encoder.

I don’t need tempo encoder cause it gonna work synched.

MB77 - New plexi window

e=3mm.

MB77 - New legend sticker.

A rainbow picture for Jaytee!

An old picture of the ili9361 driver testing, this 1,8" RGB TFT has 160x128 pixels, it is connected in SPI 4wires to the dipCoreF4.

The module cost 6$ at [buydisplay](https://www.buydisplay.com/default/display-1-8-inch-spi-128x160-tft-touch-screen-lcd-module-datasheet)!

I took this picture under the sunlight as you can compare their brightness with the others elements(screen, led matrix etc…)

Re: sammichSID

Nice colors!

Re: sammichSID - naked

Nice!

what is the brand of the VFD?

Have you modified the driver for it?

Regards

Antix

Re: sammichSID - naked

I am interested, too - it really looks nice!

Re: sammichSID - naked

Hi,

Yes i have modified the LCD driver.

Id=7 “custom LCD”, only for adjust contrast @ startup.

It’s a Samsung VFD, 4/8bits connection, model 20T202DA1E.

ith all features needed. The only difference is that contrast is digitally controlled.

Find on net @24€.

For the color filter, I used “Lee Filters”, after a little test with sampler.

I’ ve finally choose number 085 “Deeper Blue”:

lee filer number 085

You can find if in professional audiovisual shop.

Or for a little stamp i can send it, a letter format is enough, and i bought 1 meter…

`

Regards.

Re: sammichSID - naked

Oh and…

Connection! 14 pins cause no led, only 5V supply 150mA typ. 220mA max. (no pots).

Re: sammichSID - naked

Thanks for the information - this has already helped!

Bye, Peter

Re: MB77 - Closed.

Awesome work! Maybe I should treat my VL Tone the same way?

Re: MB77 - Closed.

Great Midiboxification!

Re: MB77 - Closed.

Thank you guys!

There’s some analogic mods to do with KPR.

ex: Bass Drum Mod.

Maybe it can be controlled by midi?

But for the moment, i don’t reopen it, i play it!

Re: MB77 - Closed.

so do i get that right, it has still the kpr sound in it?

awesome work!

Re: MB77 - Closed.

awesome work!

Thank you

And YES! It was the goal.

Some video?

It was not so difficult, Digital and Analog are clearly separated.

Re: MB77 - New legend sticker.

looks nice. how do you have these made?

Re: MB77 - New legend sticker.

This is just an eps file at this time.

With SidMonster, we are working on it.

With printing/cutting machine and metallic inks on adhesive.

gonna make a test and show result…

“illskins” coming soon…

Re: MB77 - New legend sticker.

awesome. i would like to do something like this for my ableton live controllers. i’m not big on the engraved look.

Re: MB-TIA Cartridge.

Nice job!

What 4-character display is it? Looks cool

Greets,

Peter

Re: MB-TIA Cartridge.

Hi Peter,

My first intention was to implement a “mini CS” to change patch, bank…But i think it’s not necessary, I only use the MasMsp Manager. But I let encoder and 4Digit on definitive PCB, (yet designed), we are not obliged to put and use it and it’s difficult to cut squared hole in cartridge.

Maybe one day firmware will be an MB-link one!

You asked me for demo sound, you can find it on the blog!!!

Don't be afraid you will love it ;)

I would like to show more about, but I've got strange behavior with pictures, for example this one uploaded in a wrong album...
