It could be handy when testing it with a MB. There’s nothing lost when it’s damaged.

I thought about that - but when I checked out the local Radio Shack and Wal-Mart, 8 GB SD Cards are going for $20 USD or more. I probably could find a US company that sells them online cheaper, but add shipping…
I’m guessing shipping from Germany to US is around 4 euro ($8 usd).
