Since people still hesitate to publish their MIDIbox SID patches, I thought it makes sense to inspire you by starting a new bank with a dedicated topic, and to give you the chance to fill the empty patches until all 127 slots are full.
How does it work:
download the attached .syx file (packed in a .zip file), and upload it into an unsused bank of your MBSID with Rutger’s Librarian.
Listen to the already available patches, and start to vary them, or create completely new ones from scratch.
You can either do this directly on the control surface (like me), or with the Editor.
Store each variation into an empty patch slot, and document the changes in a table like shown below.
Don’t delete/change existing patches!
Thereafter reply to this article, and attach your new .syx file (packed in a .zip file) to this thread.
I will combine your patches with my own .syx file and post the complete one in the first article.
Once we reached 127 patches, I will move the file into the Downloads section of this forum - thereafter we can start a new topic!
Here the current table:
Patches are labled "Arp 2" .. "Arp 128"

Some words to the arp sounds: there are different ways to use the arpeggiator, I prefer to clock it with the BPM generator synchronized to an external MIDI clock.
The Sync flag ensures, that notes are starting synchronized as well, e.g. with 16th notes if Speed is set to 32
I also enabled Easy play mode
People who use the arpeggiator during improvisation to play "triller" notes or fast chords would disable the Sync flag, and probably also Easy Play mode.
You are allowed to configure the arp(s) this way (of course) - but please document this in the table.
Have fun!
Best Regards, Thorsten.

To motivate you guys a bit more I attached some samples of the awesome patches TK has made :frantics:
Also, this seems like a good time to go public alpha with my patch editor/manager. It’s not fully functioning yet (patchSHare online patch up/download system isn’t really working yet, only the LEAD engine is supported so far) and has lots of bugs (if you find one please write a (detailed) bug report at http://www.schickt.de/bugtracker, ie don’t spam this thread like I do just now) and is Win32 and standalone (a VST of it is planned once it’s feature-complete) only. It does run under Wine and the Mac equivalent but MIDI IO seems to have some issues there.
Make sure zo unzip the file somewhere and not just run the .exe directly from the .zip. The app does phone home on launch (it checks for updates and downloads a new version if available), nothing dangerous going on there, you can disable that feature in the options as well.

| 028 | PWM Bass1 Arp | Up | * | - | 32 | 16 | 2 | * | o | o | O | PWM Bass1 from default patches but with a 1 octave arp.
I’m not sure if I named it right but I added one. #28. It’s just a PWM Bass1 patch taken from the presets available from the MBSID app but with a nice 1 octave arp ontop. Makes for nice, but simple, bassline. Nothing fancy but no one else seems to be sharing so I thought I would
I think there is a patch folder in SVN, though I haven’t checked out the SVN repository in a long time. That said, I both agree that non ARP patches should go elsewhere and that we need an easy way to make community patch-sets. I too have a new favorite patch based off Analog Dream (I think I used 3 or 4).
I also think there was another post about non-ARP patches, although, sadly, no one chimed in if I remember Perhaps we should try again?
The whole patch sharing is really weird thing. Maybe it would be better to share individual lead/bass/drum patches. Just make some silly ones and hope that someone brags with “better one”.
The whole bank ideology is way too demanding and also kills sound replies and fun in collective sound creation. It is way better to have hundreds of separate files. I will post all the sounds I save. We have first session next wednesday so maybe I come up with some presets then.
After one year of patch posting I think we should have enough muscle to collect the best ones as a patchbank. One per year would be more than enough.
If such individual patch tread exists, please share - haven’t found one this far.
Here a short (incomplete) remix of “Home by the Sea” by Genesis (the DIY acapella of Phil Collins’ part has been downloaded from this site).
I used Arp17, Arp16 and the “Analog Dream 3” preset + some Stylus RMX drumloops and Logic AUs.
Hey Tk,
your post is a long time ago, but did you still knew, how you had filled up the arp sequence for that case? Have you used Chords or Notes as eventtype (and track mode: normal, transposed or arp?) and which track parameter have you used and configured for that? It sounds clear and good! Did you added additional notes as track parameter inside that chord sequence too? (0-3-7 / 0-4-7 as major / minor)
