Wiring ALPS Faders/Pots

hi all, sorry for this newbie question! I didn’t find any

satisfactory solution using >search<.

i got some ALPS faders, they have 4 pins on one side

and 2 pins on the other side.. (and 2 additional which

only are there for mounting to the board). so where can

i read how those faders need to be wired, as i thought

3 pins should suffice, is there a pdf from alps or so? the

same for the pots i got from ALPS.. they have 4 pins.. is

this more try-and-error or is there documentation?

Hi,

Go to http://www.alps.com and see if you can find those faders/pots from their Product Catalog. Those pdf’s they have online aren’t really that helpful, but the details web pages should have all the information needed, although in a bit difficult to understand form..

yeah i found their pdfs and they aren’t useful at all :slight_smile: which detail pages do you mean?

Hmm–

If you’re in same page where you can download “PDF Catalog”, go to “Details” instead, and there, well if there are multiple products, click on the product name you have.

Then MAYBE you can find out where and what the terminals are.. (try “Mounting Hole Details” and maybe “Caution”)
