To those MB_LC users out there (D2K, Steve....)

Thinking about redoing me box in to an M/C clone

My question is about the LCDs, I cant decide if I should use a graphical or standard 2x40 LCD(s), the 2x40s look like they may be slightly more ergonomic?

Thoughts…?

???

peace

I use 2 2x40 lcd, but I put them like that :

01234567890123456789

Chan 1 chan 2 chan 3 chan 4*************

Chan 1 chan 2 chan 3 chan 4*************

_______________*************Chan05 chan06 chan07 chan08

_______________*************Chan05 chan06 chan07 chan08

_ : space

* : unused character on lcd.

so this way I loose some character on it, but have the same space between each channel (1").

I don’t know what to do with the unused character on the lcd. my front panel is a 19" 9HE rack front panel.

I don’t have picture yet as it’s not drill (I’m waiting for some tact switch knob for drilling it).

I prefere it instead of putting a space between channel 4 and 5… and so this can fit on the 19" front panel.

I use the 2x40’s as Frank done with his 1st Beast-LC - works best for me as it’s like a channelstrip…

I also used 2  2x40 LCD’s.

The main reason was the compatibility to the ready LC_application  :P

Thanks guys  :D

Hey Dan you have made a box with a GLCD & also one with 2 x 2x40’s? …so the 2x40’s are best in your opinion? (probably cheaper to?)

Ye - I *had* a box with a 240x64 - that was takin apart to make way for the new.

I prefer 2x40s over the glcd too as u can have the info on screen aligned perfectly with the rest of the channelstrip elements (fader/buttons/encoder) - makes for a more coherent design i think…

hmmmm… thats what I was thinking.

The 240x64 did sound kinda cool but the 2x40 more effective to use

thanks heaps
