Here is a list of ICs I have just sitting around, Im no good at designing circuits, but I can build them and I have a basic understanding. So anyone have any ideas what I can build that might be fun music wise? I actualy have tons more but I jsut grabe one sheet ot them.
2x NE555 (never have to many of these)
1x LM 566
1x LM10
1x MOC3010
1x LM3080
2x LM311
1x LM567 (gee wonder where this came from)
1x DM7476
1x sn74ls192
1x sn74ls147
2x 74ls173
1x 74ls273
2x DM74121
1x DM74LS13
1x LM741

Ok, I’ll try it.
Most of your ICs are Standard types good for all purposes (not only audio)
NE555 : Standard Timer IC -> you can make a oscillator out of it
LM 566 is a LM566C Voltage Controlled Oscillator. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/NSC/LM566.html
LM10 is a OPAMP. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/NSC/LM10.html
MOC3010 is a 6-Pin DIP Random-Phase Optoisolators Triac Driver Output. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/MOTOROLA/MOC3010.html
LM3080 is a Operational Transconductance Amplifier. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/NSC/LM3080.html
LM311 is a HIGH PERFORMANCE VOLTAGE COMPARATORS. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/ONSEMI/LM311.html
LM567 is a Tone Decoder. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/NSC/LM567.html
DM7476 is a Dual Master-Slave J-K Flip-Flops with Clear, Preset, and Complementary Outputs. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/FAIRCHILD/DM7476.html
sn74ls192 is a PRESETTABLE BCD/DECADE UP/DOWN COUNTER . Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/MOTOROLA/SN74LS192D.html
sn74ls147 is a LOW POWER SCHOTTKY. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/ONSEMI/SN74LS147.html
74ls173 is a 4-BIT D-TYPE REGISTERS WITH 3-STATE OUTPUTS. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/TI/74LS173.html
74ls273 is a OCTAL POSITIVE EDGE-TRIGGERED D-TYPE FLIP FLOP WITH RESET. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/MITSUBISHI/74LS273.html
DM74121 is a One-Shot with Clear and Complementary Outputs. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/FAIRCHILD/DM74121.html
DM74LS13 don’t know
LM741 is a OPAMP. Datasheet: http://www.alldatasheet.net/datasheet-pdf/pdf/NSC/LM741.html

Yea I was able to find out what most of them are, I just dont know how to create circuits from scratch.
Incidentaly the datasheet for the one you didnt know is here:
http://www.ortodoxism.ro/datasheets/nationalsemiconductor/DS010166.PDF
I figure the 555, and VCO to be the most useful in an audio application.
I also have these laying around:
MC68HC705C8P

NE556
http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/LM%2FLM556.pdf
NE565
http://www2.norwich.edu/jbeneat/ee463/documents_lab/LM565.pdf
I use to tinker with broken electronics so this is all just ICs I pulled off boards hoping that one day I would know what to do with them.

Need to switch mains from a logic level circuit? Using this driving a triac will do that for you.
2x LM311
A popular choice for intergrator with reset VCO’s.
Bye, Moebius
Thanks Moebius, I should be able to build a pretty simple monosynth from that.
