just saw the new features of the elektron sequencers, and there is a clever trig probability for setting up a step to play everytime (100%), one out of two time (50%), out of three, four etc…
is there something similar in SeqV4? if not, would be great to have!
I’ve tried the prob function creating a new layer, and if i put 50%, it doesnt play one out of 2, it seems to be random, perhaps equalling 50%, but if i want to play one out of 2, how can i do it? also can you control whether it will play on the first round or second round?
Nth1 will trigger the specified action the first time and then each nth bar, while Nth2 will start triggering only after n bars, and then each nth bar.
The possible actions are:
Pl: Play each nth bar
Mu: Mute each nth bar
Ac: Accent each nth bar
Ro: Roll each nth bar
Fx: enable Fx each nth bar
Nx: disnable Fx each nth bar
The first option before Pl (-- 2 etc.) is a dummy and does nothing.
Below is an example sequence and how it will actually sound (I hope the spacing isn’t completely messed up).
In other words, step two and four use the mute function, and using Mu2 (with Nth1) means the step will be muted the first time it’s played, and then every second time. The fourth step will be muted the first time, and then every fourth time. With Nth2 muting would start taking place only on the second time the note is played, and then every second time for step2 and every fourth time for step4 (in the example above).
If the Nth layer was Nth2 instead of Nth1 in the example above, the outcome would be:
