Soldering buttons question (OMRON B3F with B3J question).

Hi members :slight_smile:

I finally got my MIDIbox up and running with all the pots, so now it is time to move on to the buttons and the DIN/DOUT.

I bought some OMRON B3F/B3J tactile buttons with (as far as I can see) four connectors labeled 1, 2, 3 and 4 and two connectors for the LED.

This is the one:

I can’t seem to find any connection information anywhere on the OMRON site, and google didn’t help much either.

Any of you have had any experience with these buttons that could tell me where the 1-4 connectors should be connected to my DIN ?

lol, look in the right corner below of the picture, there is the pin-description…and as its said, pin1+2 and 3+4 is connected together, so you have the choice, connect pin1 to GND and 3 to DIN, or 2->GND and 4->DIN :wink:

EDIT : Or 1->GND…4->DIN    or    2->GND…3->DIN…  ;D  ;D

There is a switch symbol in the picture labelled “Terminal Arrangement/Internal Connections (Top View)”

So the switch is electrically connected between either pins 1 or 2 … AND … either pins 3 or 4.

You then wire this switch up the same way as the push button switch symbol:
