Am in the midst of reboxing my first SID synth and space in the new case is really tight so am looking for suggestions as to a smaller encoder or possibly a wheel like on a PC mouse.
Anyone have any experience or suggestions on this?

what about the encoders of an old wheel-mouse?
Not the ones that are used for scanning the movements of the ball, but the encoder that is connected to the wheel between the 2 mouse-buttons.
