I am about to upgrade to v2. so, in preparation, before i do anything else, i want to make the control surface.
?s:
i bought an encoder with pushbutton from smashTV. it has 5 pins, 3 on one side and 2 on the other. how do i find the specs so i know how to connect it to the digital input of my DINX4? which pin is for the button push?
and
does it matter how i order the buttons/encoder? should i put all the buttons first then the encoder?
thanks !
EDIT:
yes, thanks everyone, it was of course a simple wiring issue. i had screwed up the J1:SI din to J9:SI connection, putting it instead to J1:S0.
here you can see that the black wire is ground, and i connect the other leg of the button to a jumper so that i can obv keep the ribbon cleaner. what am i doing wrong??
perhaps you soldered the buttons 90° instead normal. so you wouldnt switch. i made this failure once too. it needed a hole day to find that. take a multimeter and check if your buttons are switching.
You may like to test this with just the core and the LCD, running the ain64_din128_dout128 app. Correction: you should test it like that. Anything else is creating room for error (and fried parts)
j5a and b, are the same as j5, so you need only ground one or the other. You can do it however seems best to you really (sorry I always disable mine heh)
