SID Audio on patch change

Hi,

I have a small but annoying problem :slight_smile:

When I change patches on the SID I sometimes get a pop on the audio out.

Has anyone else heard this ?

Any ideas what the cause is ?

That’s a feature of the 6581 chip (I suppose you have that type). It pops a bit also when you turn filter on and off, right? The 8580 seems to have less popping.

In fact, that´s a little bug in the 6581 (and the 8580 later). People in the 80´s used this “bug” to make the 6581 a sample player (they just turned the volume up/down to play a sample). Do remember the *really* shitty samples from that time? :slight_smile:
