Thanx to Twin-X we have the possibility to test a new server – which is very fast!
I’ve installed a temporary forum so that we can test the connection from different locations:

I’ve also uploaded some .mp3’s to test the bandwidth, the maximum download speed I’ve reached was 124 kb/s (this is the limit of my ADSL line)

The forum is very fast indeed
Download speed of mp3 is a solid 130 KB, my cable is max somewhere around 400-500. The limit seems per connection because 2 download at same time still gives high speeds

I am from the Netherlands too and i get 180 - 310 kb/s
mp3-download here (120 KB/sec.) and
the testserver is working fine
I got a 130 kB/sec download from Vancouver, BC (west coast of North America), and the forum seemed quite responsive.
Forum is so much faster!
mp3’s about 50k…not so good, but this is my school network and it’s busy now…
forgot, I am in the usa, near dc.

202 kb/s max. Â drops to ~100 kb/s when downloading two at a time. Â dsl modem. Â connecticut, usa
forum mirror works fine.

This server rocks..
I’m in Southern CAlifornia, USA.
Believe it or not, I was getting like 450kb - 1meg (but then, I use Flashget, which opens multiple connections)
Incredible.
And BTW, the FM synth sounds AWESOME as well..

(It’s an ISDN 64k though, so it’s running TO THE LIMITS! I’m planning to switch to adsl in the next weeks. Here in greece dialup is the rule, adsl the exception!)
SMF seems a useful upgrade too!
Definitely faster than the cgi version of the old yabb!

And migration was incredibly fast one..
It could be, that I haven’t got used to this “new looks”, but some fonts in this new board look just a bit too little for my eyes.. Comments?
