I’m considering a bulk order of encoders from Top-up. I think I can do a much better price than the ~$5 most shops seem to charge! They have a common anode RGB LED inside and a switch with 5mm travel.
I think the 16 mm D-shaft with 24 detent/24 pulse would be best. They would probably work very well with the “Waldorf” clear knobs.

If you’re interested, please reply below with quantities desired.
i’n in, depending on the price 20-30.
I’d take 10 if there’s a decent price.
does it work?
depends on price,16 up to 64

The clear Waldorf? Not sure! Apparently they are exactly the same as Sparkfun’s version. Bourns also make one which I have. EDIT: looking again these are T18 spline shaft, not what we want!
Here are the Bourns pots (not encoders) which I imagine would be fairly similar.
Pricing might be about $3 each if I ordered 1000… not sure if that’s different enough from Sparkfun’s price of $3.5-$4.
I might be interested, but gonna wait it out a bit longer (yeah usefull answer :P)
If you need, I suggest ordering from Sparkfun et al. Instead I’m working on a different concept using hollow shaft encoders and WS2812 LEDs arranged on a PCB. This should be more flexible in terms of multicolour possibilities, also the PCB routing is much easier!

Hi @ all,
What kind of hollow shaft encoder are you planning to use? And where do you get the clear shafts?

That’s for another time when all the pricing, dimensions etc. are known.
