Damn!
I know punctuation sucks, but It would be much more easier to read and understand your posts
If you would use some dots and commas.
thanks.
matthias
so ill just put them in randomly yea!
kris is dyslexic so it’s not quite the same in his case I think.
Kris don’t be offended, SLP is a good guy I’d bet he just missed the post where you mentioned it. I actually forgot about it awhile back and I do understand SLP’s feelings that it can be frustrating. Please don’t take offense at my saying that kris, to be honest, I think that it’s just because so many people are lazy about it that it’s a knee-jerk reaction for us to assume that lazyness is what’s happening.
I don’t mean to be presumptuous but a friend suggented that watching your breathing can help, because we tend to breathe in where there’s a full stop. You might’ve already tried it and it might be useless, but hopefully that might help ![]()

Anyway, I’d say you would be better off posting this on Reason support and user forums someplace.
thanks stryd im not offended frustrated is more the term
as im very good at face to face but written communication will all ways be a pain having to explain just sucks as well
i do try to make my posts as readable as possible obviously i want people to understand what im saying some days its better than others
anyway i think its the relationship of the midi-box to reason so just trying to see if any one here uses reason cant help thinking that an upgrade of midi-box os would sort it out
kris
having to explain just sucks as well
Yeh I know what ya mean hey. My situation is different but I do know the feeling: >:( :

I’ve noticed ![]()

I doubt it… If you want to know for sure, use MIDI-OX to patch MIOS Studio to Reason, and play the keyboard to emulate the button presses from the midibox.
Anti-Punctuation rocks!
(And I mean that honestly!)
Cheers,
Michael

its no worries i appreciate this forum as at least people are friendly
ill give that ago stryd although im not even running mios on either of my boxes at the moment maybe the next one ill give mios a whirl
kris
ppl are more than friendly round here…
it’s weird, maybe I’m wrong, but I get the feeling that uCapps has collected a lot of very cool and nice people - which is very strange in and of itself, as let’s face it most ppl you meet are basically selfish twats. And on the internet it’s life accelerated and magnified; people love to flame and act out their frustrations in an anonymous environment.
btw: kris, last posts have been way more readable; is stryds suggestion working?
it’s weird, maybe I’m wrong, but I get the feeling that uCapps has collected a lot of very cool and nice people
I think that’s because of the fact that only very intelligent people are able to build a Midibox. ;D
i practice a lot of breathing techniques
i find they help with life generally
as im a didj player first and for most
but as for posting on forums im experimenting with layout and keeping it brief
thanks to everyone involved
kris
Didj speaks clearer than forums anyway ![]()
Didge rocks!!!
I made this didgeridoo in the box inspired by original didge. It is basically labyrinth in the box forming pipe. I call it Labyridoo
Stryd, you`re aussie, right? Do you play one? ![]()
PS. Sorry for topic hihhjack, but its didges fault ![]()
cool one 8)
i dont mind didj hi jacking the thread
i like the box didj very nice
i used to make them out of clay wow the low frequencies and they ring like bells
when you hit the right harmonic
but unfortunately fragile so they dont last for long
oh well
as for communication music is definately a universal form that transcends both written and spoken language
kris
My girlfriend is Aboriginal, she went ??? when I said “check out this didge”… “Where?” ;D We’re talking in Aboriginal accents now, she’s telling me the correct pronunciation of “yirdaki” hehehe
I have played didj but I suck at it. I can do like 2 minute breaths, but the circular breathing thing is not happening!
yea it took me about a year of practice to get circular breathing
but now ive seen three different techniques of circular breathing so ive kinda realised that its like a lateral thought on this thing breathing
something we all do without thinking and take it for granted that its in out in out etc
where really its open to interpratation
its where we get all of our energy from so its important!!
check out the meaning of the word inspiration
kris
Im sure clay didge sounds great. Labyridoo is made of some fine wooden powder mixed with glue. Dont know the english word. Annyway, it is not hard enough to make the characteristic sharp sound so I trie to harden it aplying several layers of laqueer.
About circular breathing… newer learned it. I did tried few times but seams pretty difficult. I live far from the aborigins and other didge playing people so I tried to learn circular breathing by reading the instructions online. Kris, you mention there are few techniques for C.B. Could you direct me to some good webpages?
Here is the picture of my beloved real, well not eucaliptus but bamboo yirdaki, wich sounds great, except it stop playing when I left out of breath. Good is that I have quite big lung capacity. I painted it black and tried to paint some aboriginal style dot art.
hey sasha
unfortunately ive never looked on the web for circular breathing
but its about relaxing so if you concentrate on the sound that you are making
then making this sound longer and longer (practice this for some time as you have to develop cheek muscles)
eventually the sound gets longer the breaths get shorter (it just happens, a little bit like falling in)
as i say it took me about a year playing everyday but ive seen people learn it in 15-30 mins (usually children)
its not difficult and if you can juggle you can circular breath
kris
ps this is the best i could find quickly
