Random chars after PIC header change and rc20 upload

hi

this is MB6582 related but it could be probably moved to the SID forum, mods will tell

After changing the PIC header to use the custom driver for lcd (i use a 8 bit lcd) and uploading the new rc20 to all the pics i get some garbage messages on my lcd it is something like:

0oo//?///?_00

etc etc

any idea?

To which PIC pins are D0..D3 connected?

i ve filled the 4 pairs of pads with a solder blob so they should be connected to pins 9,10,33,34

EDIT: is there any reason why i should change the header for custom lcd on PICs 2,3 and 4?

EDIT: it is now working, but unfortunately i didn t understand what was wrong with it, i ve just reuploaded ID_change and SIDv2

Fine that it is working now. No, there is no need to change the LCD type for the slave cores, since no LCD is connected anyhow.

Btw.: which type of LCD are you using exactly, and where did you buy it?

I need this info for the records - because normaly a LCD should work fine in 4bit mode, so that no sw/hw modification is required.
