Question about solder pots and buttons

Hi,

I have mi midibox 64 ready to solder pots and buttons, and i have a question, i’d try to expone it (my english is not very good)

Have I to solder the pots or buttons in a special order, i have used and adaption of Torn Arne’s design and i want to know if for exemple the “menu prev” (in the torn Arne design) button must be conected in a specific in of the IC?, or simply the buttons must be configured by software or by other way and the order in that they are conected is not important?

Hi Juanjo,

the Exec/Left/Right/Snapshot button should be soldered on special pins - all others are free assignable with special functions or MIDI events.

I’m sorry but i have no explained well in my post,

I’m usisng the old design, all in the same pcb,

Where have i to solder the Control Buttons in this design?

Hi Juanjo,

in the old design the input shift registers (74HC165) have the same pin enumeration, so just compare the DIN module description with the PCB circuit or find out the correct buttons with try & error - it’s easy :slight_smile:
