plexiglass/acrylic rods suppliers?

Hi guys,

Just curious if anyone could suggest where I might try to look for a clear or translucent plexi/acrylic rod in Australia.

I’ve checked the big hardware stores, and electronics shops, but nothing seemed to be available.

I’m sure I should be looking for a different kind of store more suited to this kind of thing. Also tried a couple hobby shops, but they didn’t seem to have what I was after (and afterall, they mark up more than musical instruments! haha).

At the moment, I’m about to attempt embedding LEDs into resin to make lit buttons, the stuff meant for insect displays.. haha…

any tips would be much appreciated.

While this subject is in play, I thought I’d say - It would be great if we could get tech data on the plastic used. If we could get the refractive index we’d know exactly how to cut it for maximum reflection of the light from the LED :slight_smile:

http://www.tapplastics.com is in the US but they say they will ship internationally.  Around here they are the first source to check for plastic of all kinds.
