Pin headers

Question about Pin headers. Probably  a stupid one. So are they simply a pin held by plastic? Can they be cut down? Could you put two short ones together to make a long one? Or are they connected in some other way? Sorry for the simple question, just dont want to spend more than I have to.

yes, you can cut and/or chain them

You can save some money by purchasing some1x40 instead of smaller ones
