Since the MIDImerger project is still quite popular, I created a new variant which is based on the PIC16F88.
Not only that this chip is smaller and cheaper - it’s especially possible to use it without external crystal with a sufficient accuracy

Is it possible to program the 16f88 with (JDM + (PicBurner 18f452 to 16f88 adapter) + icprog)compatible with 16f88?
I see MBHP burner is compatible, but I have already built the JDM module a long time ago, with many succesful burns of 18f452.

I was studying the possibility of programming the 16f88 with JDM, and as far as I can see, all of the needed pins in 16f88 are supplied by JDM. Is that enough for JDM to be able to program it? Btw, ICProg has 16f88 in its list.

no - for more inputs you need something like the MIDI Router project

Just as a commentary: I can’t seem to find 16f88 at the stores here. It’s far easier to find 18f452 or 16f877… I suppose 16f88 is a newer MC?

I *think* they’re done. They still need to be tested by someone. I don’t really need the merger just yet, so I won’t get around to testing them anytime soon. There’s also a layout sketch for a perfboard variant in the .zip file.
