perspex/plexiglas LCD windows

I seem to recall someone being able to make windows for protecting LCD windows. Who was that? Are windows still available?

Search for “acrylic window”.

That was julianf. He made windows for Wilba’s MB Seq front panel but he only made enough for the customers that bought panels IIRC.

Cheers

Phil

someone should just lay a ponoko one out, those would be dirt cheap and they have 2mm clear material. Personally, I just get some lexan film from mcmaster and sandwich between the panel and the LCD. They have thickness down to 0.005" , it’s tough stuff, and cheap. And if you are REALLY concerned about your display, it comes in .44 magnum rated bulletproof as well

Hi,

Probably , as say Altitude , the cheapest solution is the plexyglass you can buy in hardware store.

If you have time with a dremel like tool you can engrave the edges to create a step to be embedded.

I think Ponoko is the route I’ll take.

All you Dremel-users ought to check out the Proxxon line of rotary tools. I’ve come to the conclusion that Dremel is okay as long as you don’t want to use attachments.
