Parts required/not required for slave cores and slave sids in multiSID MBSID?

hello all,

i found nebula’s question relating to what is not needed on slave cores/sids, but iwas wondering if everything was mentioned in that thread?

basically, what components do not need to be mounted on the slaves.

Maybe you could create a list of components you want to use, and somebody else can say, which ones are not really required - you could write this into the Wiki in order to ensure, that the same question doesn’t need to be answered again and again…

I only mounted the J11, the clock, and the resistors (probably more than i needed). The big cap, rectifier, small cap in the power circuit can go if your running 5VDC from your PSU.  I think I also left off the opto (my box is at my shop so i’ll verify)

i was going to leave off the large and small caps, but wasn’t absolutely sure they weren’t needed, but they’ll come off now, thanks for the tip.

on my master core i’ve mounted:

PIC

Opto coupler

all resistors

all caps (except C4 and C5)

Q1

T1 (is this needed if i power my backlight directly from the power supply?)

J2 (for power)

J10 (for SID)

J15 (for LCD)

J4 (for bankstick)

J8+J9 (for DIN+DOUT)

J11 pins MO and VS

on my slave core, i’ve mounted:

PIC

all resistors

all caps (except C4 and C5)

Q1

J2 (for power)

J10 (for SID)

J11 pins MI and VS

now i need to know is that all correct? do all the resistors need to go on. (i know some don’t on the slaves, but i’m not sure which ones. cheers people.

@Altitude:

if you didn’t mount the large cap C5, why does it say that that cap should still be there in the c64 psu pdf?  ???

I’m sure its to beef up the 5 volt signal but even on the schematic it says you can go lower value if you need more room
