first, i apologize if my question can be answered in other posts, i do not have much time right now to look through the forums.
i am a newbie at this. i have no idea what i am doing.
Im looking for direction to information. im assuming the midibox seq is sequencer based whereas the SID is synthesis based.
thats about all i know at this point.
if there are other posts to answer my question, I.e. how do i start building my own sequencer, please help me find them.

Then start reading through current threads, and search back through old threads, on a regular basis to familiarize yourself with all the “tech” talk. This is what I’ve been doing and, although, there are many things that still confuse me about the project i’m about to undertake (the MB 64), i’m more familiar with what I need to look out for. It’s like moving to a new city and getting lost a few times. Soon enough you’ll learn your way around but no doubt there’ll be places you’ll need guidance to get to.
