New Sequencer - All panel mount

I’ve started building another sequencer, this ones for gigs, so more robust, and a bit cheaper to build.

It’s made from a found box and a found bit of aluminium.

My first sequencer was all PCB mount, and while looks brilliant, the PCB mounted switches made everything just that little bit harder to line up with the panel.. (No CAD, just a pencil). I’ll post pics for that one when I replace the MDF face with a Proper one from Schaeffer.

Me and a few friends are building one each, and I’ve gone for panel mount everything to make construction a little easier for my technically challenged mates.

I’ve done everything by hand, with a cordless drill, jig saw, file and some sand paper.

It’s not exactly perfect, but it’s coming along nicely.

Now I’m just waiting on more buttons to arrive, and i’ll be pretty much ready to finish it off.. oh, and some knobs.

Looks pretty robust, I reckon it can handle alot of dragging and live abuse.

Just wire up a few more buttons & Leds..

You are not using the 4x16 duo leds and buttons extension ?

Panel mount rocks. I planned on doing the same, for the same reason - it’s rock-solid… just couldn’t find nice enough switches for my very picky tastes… well, not for under $20 each

you must have very very picky tastes for $20 each!

The buttons I used were about 70c each.

nice work mate i like those buttons and yeah i think i will be going panel mount from now on but maybe with a small twist

yea, I’m thinking of keeping with the “on the cheap” DIY with that, And making some.. but def on the chrome / silver / aluminium side.
