Someone please help. My DIN is not working after the 5th shift register. The problem is when the sixth register is plugged in nothing after the 4th register works. Someone please give me suggestions. All works fine as long as I don’t have the 6th register plugged in.

sounds like a short… check and check and check your solders.
i also figured out that if you have a short at the din the 7805 doesn’t get hot … the din only doesn’t want to work.
you also could try to switch the IC’s

I’ve switch ic’s let me go back and resolder all my clock lines solders. I will check.
