It is my first post on this forum, though I have been looking at projects people were doing and it is amazing !
I have experience DIY modules for analog synths. Now I got intrested in MIDI, particularly because you can store patches. Obviously on Analog Systems it is imposible (though there are some mechanical-electrical mechanism that can store limited number of patches)
I have a plan to build analog Filter Bank, similar to Sherman FilterBank (sherman filterbank is able to receive and send MIDI information, therefore you can store patches).
That is the filter I want to build: http://www.oakleysound.com/filtrex.htm. Also I would like unit to have internal patch memory and small LCD screen where I would be able to choose my own patches.
the way to go in short; get voltage control on every knob you want midi controlled; knobs like cutoff will have this implemented allready, but the ones that don’t you will have to make v-controlled (with vactrols, OTA’s transistors, search the net!)
you can replace normal switches by… thats right; voltage controlled switches (or switches you can operate with triggers);
once your analog filter has total voltage control you can set up a midibox; midi->cv (MBCV) module to control knobs and gate envelopes, an you can trigger switches with dout modules (MIDIO128)..
Oh well lets say that entire company is basically gone. Oakleysound aren’t making synths anymore nor kits nore anything esle except synth services.
I emailed Oakleysound for schematics, still no replay.
First step is simple - V.C. on ever knob ! I also figure out the Memory and LCD screen- that is not so hard.
Now will the MIDIBox only be able to receive MIDI information ? Or will it be able to send it too ? In other words there will be full MIDI-CV and CV-MIDI ?
Actually Oakley Sound Systems is alive and well 8) Only the less profitable and more time consuming DIY kits and PCBs business is gone. Yet, some Oakley products are available as full modules from http://www.ear-group.com and more to come.

It’s all possible with :o MIOS; (M is for Magikk ;))
