Midibox SID Patch Manager

I’ve developed a small tool for managing the patches of the MBSID.

It’s capable to

  • copy single patch from SID to SysEx file

  • send single patch from SysEx file to SID

  • copy all patches from the SID to SysEx file

  • store all patches from SysEx file to SID

  • copy single patch within the SID

  • receive generic manual SysEx dump and save to file

  • send generic SysEx dump from file

OS: Win32

Download MBSid Patch Manager 0.3

Maybe someone is interested and could do some testing of the tool?  ;)

Warning, though everything seems to work correct (at last with my computer setup) I’m not responsible if the tool messes your patches up…  ;)

I’d love to try your program since JSynthLib doesn’t seem to work with my computer, but the file is unavailable…  ???

damn, I’ve uploaded a new version and forgot to rename it properly…  ::slight_smile:

Link is now fixed. I’m also uploading it to the MidiBox portal…

sorry about that…  :)

@Jurbo:

Does the tool work with your SID ?

Hi TL,

I get the message, that the application cannot be started due to a missing .bpl file (rtl60.bpl)

Best Regards, Thorsten.

@Thorsten:

fixed, now the file is statically linked…

Download MBSid Patch Manager 0.3

Thanks for taking the time to play with this tool…  ;)

Thank you very much for making this tool. Have only just tried it a bit but everything seems to work perfect.  :D

Good work!!  :D:D

js

@js:

thx  ;D

Currently I’m working on support for multiple banksticks, which are supported by the upcoming 1.7 SID release…  8)

I´ve been using it a bit more and i have a suggestion for another feature. It would be great if it was possible to select some patches from the sid and save them into a single syx file.  I needed shis feature today when i was sending syx files to TK, i and to make several syx files to awoid including the syx files.

But the again this is a small thing and not something there´s need very often :slight_smile: The app works wonders for me!!:smiley:

I’m aware of this and will make it possible. :wink:

BTW: Is there some interest in a linux port of the tool?  ???

Ok, new version 0.4 available: Download

Changes:

  • support for MB SID 1.7 firmware (supports multiple banksticks)

  • more than one selected patch can saved to SysEx file

  • bugfix in log, now every midi event is logged

TK reported that the Patch Manager sometimes chrashed with WinXP and his MidiSport 2x2  :(

Please test the new release and report your results…

Uhhhh, that last update was perfect… Makes everything just a bit easier :smiley:

Thanks alot for your programming!!

Have a merry Crhistmas and a happy new year!! :smiley:

js

I’ve just setup a small webpage for the Patch Manager:

http://www.automatic-brain.de/midibox/

Currently I’m working on support for backing up all banksticks with one click…

*update*

Version 0. 5 available Download

Changes:

-full support of multiple banksticks ( backup and restore all banks with one click)

  • Patch Manager now gets a bank via the <Request a Dump of the whole Bank> SysEx command

Some comments about the 0.5 release?

It’s great, I like it! :slight_smile:

Best Regards, Thorsten.

BTW: Is there some interest in a linux port of the tool?  ???

Sure is, that would make a MacOS X port very easy.

@DrBunsen:

Well, if I find the time to do the port from Delphi to FreePascal there will be a Linux and a MacOS X, too.

Unfortunately, my time is very limited at the moment by it’s on my todo list…  :slight_smile:
