Does anyone know if it is possible to use an 18F452
PIC instead of the 16F87X chips for midibox plus? Assuming crystal change of course. Can one use the boot loader to install v.1.91 code for the 16pot_bb?

Im pretty sure the 18F uses a completely different instruction set to the 16F therefore the hardware is 1:1 but the firmware is not 1:1.

All you would need to do is use the register and demux chips you wanted and tie off the ones not used. That would be the easiest way to use the new platform for a MB-16 project.
