Hi,

I want to have the following configuration:

Midibox16 –> Midibox64 –>Com Port –> PC

Is this possible?

How do I connect the two core boards?

Hi,

sure, this is possible on this way:

LTC J1:MI -> MIDIbox Plus Rx Pin

MIDIbox Plus Tx Pin -> MB64 Rx Pin

MB64 Tx Pin -> LTC J1:MO

Hope that this short description is clear enough (just compare the schematics of the MBHP core, the LTC module & MIDIbox Plus). I will draw a diagram if required…

The idea is to use only the serial port for all midiboxes.

I meant Midibox16E no midibox plus but that should not

change the configuration.

Do I have to omit any optocuplers on either core pcb’s?

If so which?

Alright - yes, for MB16E it’s the same.

You have to omit all optocouplers. They are only for “common” MIDI lines, which are working as opto-isolated “current loop”. So long as you are wiring digital Rx/Tx signals, no additional components are required between MIDI IN and OUT.
