You could probably do this with an embedded Ethernet chip or kit and one of the new platform-independant Ethernet to wireless adapters, and a wireless card in your PC.

Or you could try building a circuit to convert MIDI data to/from a radio or infra-red signal at each end, and simply plug it into a MIDI port.
