MBSID spare LED as MIDI In indicator ?

Hi all,

here http://www.ucapps.de/midibox_sid_cs/2x20_enc_multi_w_j5.pdf a spare LED connection on J5 of the core module for the MBSID “basic setup” is mentioned. Would it be possible to use it as a MIDI in indicator? What would have to be done software-wise to allow this?

Hi Ilmenator,

a nice idea! I will integrate two timeout-counters for the MIDI In and MIDI Out buffer into the next MIOS release (since it would be usefull for other applications, too) so that this function can be easily integrated.

Though this surely would not be limited to J5, any DOUT should do, right (regarding the necessary routines)??

Sure… the SID application handles J5 like a DOUT, but by integrating this function into MIOS, you can do anything with the timeout counter you want (e.g. display the status on LCD, etc…)
