MB-6582 Encoder not working after OS update

Hello,

Having received and installed the replacement LCD, I am very very close to completion :slight_smile:

I am having one remaining issue with the detented encoder on the right of the LCD. At first, it would only decrement, regardless of the direction in which it was turned. I updated MIOS and MBSID to the latest versions (having read that it could solve some issues with encoder bounce handling) and now it is pretty much dead ; it doesn’t do anything regardless of the direction in which I turn it.

As a workaround I can use the up and down buttons but it would obviously be nice to get it working… If anyone as some pointers I am all ears :slight_smile:

3 Possible Scenarios:

-Bad/faulty solder joints

-Broken Encoder

-Damaged or loose 78hc165

Thanks for your reply, I am leaning towards faulty encoder or IC ( I accidentally plugged the LCD backwards at some point and had to change it).

Anyone know of a supplier for encoders that won’t charge silly amounts for shipping (eg Mouser)?
