I jammed a little with the MB-6582.. i dont really get how the Matrix works ? When i press lets say OSC3 Pitch on 4 it switches to SID Engine 4 (which isnt installed yet). Is it normal or have i got a short on the matrix anywhere ? where in the manual is the function of the matrix described ? Or lets say i press Nr 2 at the 03 Pitch Row.. it changes from Matrix to Meter Mode ?!?!?! something must be wrong ?!
you can check the proper wiring of the matrix buttons by just pressing any horizontal matrix button (pitch, pulse width, filter, volume) -> a horizontal line should appear and by pressing any vertical button (modulation sources 1-8) -> a vertical line should appear. It should only switch to meter mode and back when you press the “mode” button left to the matrix. I would suggest taking it apart one more time and looking for accidential solder bridges, first visually, then tracing with a beeper. TK´s fine mbsid v2 handbook on ucapps.de should contain examples for using the matrix.

I looked through the manual i dont see an exact explanation how it should work.
The buttons themself work.. when i press a button on the X axis the row lights up, same for Y axis… but when i combine X and Y Axis it also works but does weird things like changing SID Engine from 1 to 4… or Changing from Matrix to Meter mode.
How can that possibly be ? i checked the connections all look fine :wacko:
The “modulation matrix” chapter for the lead engine describes how each of the eight modulation paths can be configured (e.g. by multiplying two lfos).
After you have a mod path set up, you can assign that path (which basically describes a modulation “waveform” over time) to pitch and pulse width of the three SID voices for each sid pair and filter and volume for each sid pair.
Example: when a LED is lit in column 1 (Mod 1) and row 1 (Pitch of Voice 1) it basically says that the pitches of voice 1 of the stereo sid pair are modulated over time by the modulation path 1 which you have configured.
Regarding the strange button behaviour, a greater mind is required to answer that question 
Hey Hawkeye. Thanks for your response. I guess i will have to read the manual and start playing around because the MB-6582 is so stuffed with features that i havent had on other synthesizers before. A lot of stuff to learn i guess.
Should i post the button Problem in the Troubleshooting forum or do “greater minds” show up from time to time here ? :shifty:
I hope the knobs come soon, maybe i will fix the broken leds the next days, even if the allignment is such a pain in my case. I guess only the hard road leads to satisfaction ?! :ahappy:
Just for quick info:
After 6 hours of massive troubleshoot i found the problem.
I bought 100 ohm resistors from Reichelt.de i usually measure every resistor before i solder it in, but on the 100 ohms i didnt.. so i measured them… 215 ohm’s.. i changed them to 100 Ohms. the problem still was there…
I changed all the capacitors on the core section.. problem was still there..
i changed all LEDs that flickered, and all that didnt light up at all, also resoldered everything again.. Wooohoo -> no problems with the buttons and LEDs anymore :ahappy:
Only Problem thats still there is when i hold down menu when powering it up it clones to slaves.. seems to work till the end when it displays “SLAVE 03 FAILED”
I swapped the pic from 2 <-> 3 .. but it still says SLAVE 03 FAILED :frantics:

I inserted all 8 Sids and tried to Select SID2,3,4 but there was a CAN BUS Error..
I then uploaded the MB6582 Hex via mios studio by changing jumper setting and device ID one by one.
I could now select all 4 SIDs..
I tried to clone via the MENU button once again, now everything works.. Yeeeha.. Fully functional MB-6582.. i cant believe it :queen:
Only Problem is that SID4 seems really silent. all the other 3SID Engines have good volume ?! How come ?
All 8 Sids are the ones Wilba sold..
PS: OK Problem solved.. it was a Resistor that had a little short circuit.. it measured 0,4 Ohms insted of 10K… cleaned the backside more carefully, now everything WORKS !!! I also changed the LED resistors from 1K to 500Ohm.. The UV Leds are perfect now!

Thanks Pingosimon.. my Cam doesnt capture the colours right (the colour is nicer actually) because its difficult to photograph UV LEDs but you get the idea.
I am very happy, i never thought that i would finish the MB-6582 so fast.
Its fun to play around with, but a lot to learn till i can actually start making full tracks with it.
It is funny… when i walked outside my apartment to get something to eat, i never used to lock the door before.. since i got the MB-6582 i always lock everything up properly to get sure nobody takes it away from me :ahappy:
haha yeah, I’m so protective of it…more for the hours put into it than the cost of the materials. Oh, and the availability of SID chips.

very nice but i think those UV leds are dangerous, sanded or not.
They are emitting UVA which is used for Blacklight, which isnt dangerous..

Just got my SID Heatsinks today.. they looked bigger when i ordered them.. but well better than nothing.
At least i got out a Psytrance Typical Squelch today.At least i make a little progress, it seems that the MB-6582 is capable of almost everything i need somehow. I just sold my Access Virus because i dont need it anymore, how freaky is that ?

I tried to build that sound you wanted, but got distracted fiddling around…
I think the arpeggiator and a three-note-chord could be enough, but i got better results by modulating the pitch via Wavetable and stepping the wavetable via LFO.
I just found an instrumental of that Track you mentioned, in there it seems to be a sample, cause arp-speed changes with pitch…meh…
