OK so I do hate dragging this on but, in my own defense, I did search the forums prior to this initial post. I did find many topics regarding this issue and, no, there were no answers. The closest I got to was http://www.midibox.org/forum/index.php/topic,9672.0.html, which the title is “Help needed connecting Smash’s SID to Mike’s CORE”, so I thought, “Great this is exactly what I need”. The poster solved the problem but never said what he did to fix it. Someone actually asked later after the subject was changed what he did to fix it and still no answer about it from the poster. After that I posted here to be told that
posts like yours are just unnecessary and do just waste the forum
.
And in an attempt to counter the, in my opinion, uncalled-for-sarcasm (if someone has to say
…sorry, for being sarcastic
then the initial comment was meant to make someone feel like an idiot), I deliberately wrote a self-righteous response, hence misrepresenting my situation.
It’s quite trivial to drag on something like this, but I feel I’ve come across as being a bit petty. I apologize.
Smilies for everyone!!!

…and for future reference for anyone searching the forums, here is what i ended up doing for a Smash’s SID to Mike’s CORE problem:
The connections are like so:
Core: Sid:
Rc Rc
Vd Vc
Vs Vs
Md Sc
PWM Clk
So So
Mu Mu
(Nothing actually deviates from the physical placement of the wires from the psu schematic)
…however this didn’t work for me and gave me problems, however I found that when using this http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_sid_c64_psu.pdf power setup (as I intended to only have one SID at first and then compensate with the http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/mbhp_8xsid_c64_psu_optimized.pdf setup later when I added more SIDS and CORES) is what was giving me the problems. So I used the latter of the two power setups and everything was working like it should.
