Help wiring CORE R4C with SID R3

Hi:

I put togheter a MIDIbox SID, using PCBs from Smash TV, I have CORE R4C and

SID R3.

The J2 config at SID module is different to the one showed in the site.

So I wired with Core J10 using the labels on the PCBs. The difference is

SC in SID PCB.

MD    SO            SC    SO

I used a 10 conductor flat ribbon cable and two 10 pin 0.100 x 0.100

dual row sockets (I crossed 2 wires).

I checked with a multimeter the connections and after plug the cable

I checked the voltages at SID PCB (in the sockets)

I uploaded MIOS 1.9b and midibox_sid_1.7303b_RC5, and all was OK in the CORE

but I didn’t get any sound out of the SID.

Then I uploaded mbsid_interconnection_test_b, taked out the 6581 and with a

multimeter do the test, but get 0V, moved the modwheel to change the

pins and nothing (I tested A0, A4, D2, D4).

I checked the ribbon cable again with the multimeter, and is OK.

Any ideas?

Possibly a short somewhere between the tracks/wires.

Leave off the cable between Core J10 and SID J2, and test each of the pins in Core J10 and SID J2 with every other pin in that header. The actual short might not be in the header, it might be in the tracks on the PCB (i.e. between pins on 74HC595). Also, test each wire of the cable with adjacent wires, maybe a short in the cable itself.

The CORE to SID interconnect is 1:1 for these PCB revs.
