I did this long time ago but I just did quick edit and posted the results. Meanwhile beaters are attached. Need some time to continue with it. Will post some pix when back home.

It wish to act like that. I just send it short pulse ![]()
Sasha this is pure art! Awesome!
You should throw in some sequenced computer fans of various sizes, and a cd drive opening and closing!
Kurt
and a cd drive opening and closing!
I really like this one!
Thank you.
nice! did you recall this after watching that yellow drum machine video?
I probably did subconsciously. ;D
nice one ![]()
I made something similar, using a HDD as a speaker that is driven by a small transistor amp and my mp3-player.
Sweeeeeet ![]()
[me=nILS Podewski]starts piling up his old HDDs[/me]

As a speaker :o Amazing, wanna hear some samples ![]()
BTW : Sasha, you rock ![]()
Thanks Robert.
Check the Youtube. There are zillion HDD speaker videos. I personally don`t find it much interesting.
Here are some more old pix. The beater is actually knitting needle i stole from my mother. I find out bamboo sticks for barbecue is much better as they are light strong and elastic so all 6 HDDs are using it. I dont have any pic right now. Ill took few some time.
That’s a new level.. I would love to hear the small drum
BTW, it reminds me of http://createdigitalmusic.com/2008/03/16/weekend-inspiration-coke-bottle-as-tribal-percussion-and-the-future-of-adaptive-music/#more-3156
Small drum is actually more souvenir than instrument. It can make sound but not very impressive.
About link you send… I saw that before. It is much more serious editing than playing. Anyway, I liked it alot.
Sasha, you should submit this to hackaday
I don`t feel like submitting to hackaday. I tried to contact them before about some cool ideas and they never even replied. If they find it interesting they will do it anyway without even asking me.
