Garbage on Displaytech 162C LCD / HW or SW issue?

Hello Community,

I have problems getting my LCD to work properly. It just displays garbage as shown at the attached picture. Currently I’ve no idea whether this is a software issue/an incompatibility between MIOS firmware an the displays chipset or if there is a hardware problem with the display or the core module.

I tried troubleshooting with the LCD interconnection test tool. Unfortunately all tests pass as exprected (5V only on the tested data pin etc.)

I’m using PCBs from SmashTV (Core + SID) and MIOS V1.9g is running. The SID is working basically, means the default sound plays well via MIDI.

Any help appreciated!

Hi,

Now that is a very interesting picture - all characters are shifted by a pixel to the left and to the top - you can read that it says MIDIbox SID - CS not enabled… Do you have any other CLCD for testing? I´d think the display has a problem, cause I´ve never seen such an effect… but thats just a feeling :slight_smile:

Hi,

It seems to me too a defective LCD.

I never seen missing dots like this in the second row.

Need another LCD for testing.
