Funky V3 duo LED / switch matrix

Hi all, how is the massive switch/ LED board for the Seq V3 put together?

I am considering using the silicon 4x4 button matrices from sparkfun to make one and was wondering about the wiring from the DIN/DOUT modules, plus how many one would need etc…

Cheers,

Matte

Hi

look there -> http://www.midibox.org/midibox_seq_blm_ext this album shows you the soldering of the V3 Duo-LED-Matrix

and heres the PDF of the Matrix -> http://www.ucapps.de/mbhp/button_duoled_matrix.pdf

Thankyou,

My plan is to use these buttons as my switch matrix

It will be fairly pricey, but it will rule the world when it is complete.

You have to drill an extra hole yourself since the dual leds have 3 pins. Thorsten did not use the polarity revesed led’s.

And 20 bucks aint that pricey in my opinion.

hmm this is looking really good… i remember those from monome … $20 really isn’t too much.

but then the price is just for the rubber, the contact pcb is another $15. hmm that makes $140 for what you need for the midibox seq. not cheap but since it looks like a really nice and sturdy led button system i would pay them the money. but it’s obviously overpriced.

Also, another feature of that type of silicone rubber button is that the resistance changes depending on how hard you bash them, making them (depending on being able to exploit this with the correct hardware and code) velocity and aftertoch sensitive. I have a mate who hacked a TV remote to make a velo sensitive keypad.
