homebrew additive synth on an FPGA - monophonic with 8 sine or square harmonics with individual ADSR envelopes
Hi DrBunsen,
at last year’s DAFx Conference in Madrid there was a guy who had implemented a 16-voice wavetable synthesizer on an FPGA. Interesting, but due to the high cost of the development boards for these chips not really good for DIY (apart from the soldering problem…). You can find the paper here: http://dafx05.ssr.upm.es/Proc_DAFx05/P_293.pdf
Best regards, ilmenator
Hehehe you wouldn’t believe how fast I clicked the link to read this ![]()
Seems I’ve come across this before… It’s a shame that the original VHDL source seems to be lost
… Not to mention the difficulties that illmenator mentioned. I wonder if FPGA will ever reach a point where it is more accessible to DIY…
Well shut my mouth, I have the source code here! ![]()
If anyone’s interested let me know. Don’t let me catch you using it without permission or at least solid credit to the original names though!!!

Hi.
You do realise that you are replying to a 4 year old thread to somebody who hasn’t posted in nearly a year ???
I would have said that the likelihood of receiving a favorable response is pretty low
You could try sending stryd_one a PM as he may get that by email.
Cheers
Phil
