Dramatic Forum Change

Try the one under twinnie’s avatar.

Speaking of avatars, youre one looks much cooler with the new colour scheme.

It even has a bit of colo U r cordination going on.

YES - I use UK English, in your face bitches!

…youre one …

“queen’s english”

nice forum skin Twin-X

But since it’s TK’s birthday i will give him a special present today that he does not like  :D.

Thank you! I guess, that sooner or later I will like this layout as well!

There is one detail I don’t like that much: my name under the midibox label.

It’s not because of the “perfume touch” (which Wilba mentioned), but because since some years MIDIbox turns into a project, where many people are adding their contributions. Accordingly, MIDIbox shouldn’t be directly associated with my name, but with the community.

E.g., my name under the logo would leave the impression, that only I’m allowed to call an application “MIDIbox xxx” - but in distance to this, I would like to see, that everybody who respects the community would use this name for his developments.

Best Regards, Thorsten.

Dark times are ahead for midibox, dark times indeed. Mark my words.

Is that because of the locust swarms over Australia?

I d like a “Buy me a bag of salty peanuts” button

[me=nILS Podewski]hands cimo some salty nuts[/me]

Looks great from Firefox, but I am usually on my OS4 machine, which doesn’t yet have a decent browser. I’ll stick with the classic look for now.

But hey, it’s an option, so everyone gets to choose their own way to go.

I really like the “Buy a Beer” option, there’s a few people here that I’d really like to show a bit of thanks to. Then again, how about a “throw a beer at” button for some of the other people?  :o

As far as Thorsten taking all the credit, I am AMAZED at what has been accomplished here. Yes, it’s a team effort, community powered and all that, but keeping a community of this size “managed” is not easy at all. He has done very well, and chosen his team well also.

But that’s enough for now, I’ll save my praise until I can afford to buy him a beer.

bing! bing!

  HAPPY HOUR !

LOL! Damned bugs! Help us, bugfight wan kenobi, you’re our only hope!

PS: Love the new avatar dude!

Very nice layout but i don’t know why, i can’t read RED letters on black background, my eyes are dying i know.

You should see an optometrist - red on black is fairly high contrast, so you should be able to see it fairly well. Even red/green ‘colourblindness’ shouldn’t do that…

I would like to see, that everybody who respects the community would use this name for his developments.

Anyone got an idea to get rid of the perfume maker?

Leave it out completely or should i put in some text like: “not by bluelantern” , “for instrumental geeks” or “designed by you”

Gimme some inspiriation here

I rather like the idea of a slogan there… I don’t have any ideas yet though :frowning:

midibox - we’re the good guys

midibox - preparing for world domination

midibox - solder, upload, dominate

;D

Or to pick up on TK’s slogan:

midibox - where MIDI Hardware Geeks gather

.. isn t a smd component a bit n00b frightening ? Not that i really care about logos and likesuhas …

I always liked the Headline at Jeff Glatts site:

“MIDI is the language of the Gods”

Does sound a bit ominous. Might scare away the newbies.

Perhaps some reference to the DIY nature of this group would be useful, since that is the point of a frequently repeated discussion.

Or we can help to support the ISP costs by selling perfume!

LyleHaze

maybe " we got G.A.S. for everyone"  would hit the point  8)

hmmm…has anyone noticed that “unread posts since last visit” is missing?

or am i struck with blindness?

As far as the tag goes;  take everyone’s suggestions and make them pop up at random on page loads.  I like “made by you” myself.

I’m sticking to the old layout myself.  One of the things I’ve always liked about this forum is that it’s not over-run with graphical bling.  Just the facts, ma’am

I’ve changed back for the time being. The old brighter forum is much easer to use, easier to spot un-read posts and easier to find.

I don’t want it to appear like I’m moaning, just giving the reasons. I do like the nice dark look of the new theme, but practicality has to come first some times.

Are any more themes going to be added in the future?
